20 April – 1 May 2026
Locations across Brighton
On 22nd April we launched a project to celebrate Earth Day, taking over five billboard sites in central Brighton and exhibiting photographs of a local Sussex natural landscape taken by award-winning photographers.

The project was a collaboration with Build Hollywood who donated the poster sites. BH are a creative street advertising company who help produce street campaigns that connect with communities and add to the vitality of our cities.
Viewing natural landscapes triggers an automated physiological response: lowered stress, softened attention, a moment of regulation. Exposure to a photograph of a natural landscape produces a similar effect. On a busy street, even a fleeting glance creates a micro-shift that feels noticeable – something just changed. It reminds viewers that beautiful scenes exist just beyond the city and that the urban environment is not separate from nature, but nested within it.

The project was part of our weekend Earth & Eye festival, which celebrates nature through the lens of artists seeking to elevate its status, and highlight the importance of our connection to, and role within, the natural world. The weekend consisted of a panel discussion, artist talks, film screenings, stills projections, a Victorian camera wetplate workshop & sustainable darkroom workshops using plant based chemicals.

Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22nd, is the world’s largest environmental movement, uniting millions of people globally to demonstrate support for environmental protection, raise awareness about climate issues like pollution and deforestation, and inspire action for a healthier planet.
