POST is a new lens-based arts space in Brighton & Hove with affordable artist studios, a high-spec photographic studio, B&W darkroom, creatives co-working zone, photobook library, exhibition & events space and more.
POST was established by Nina Emett and Simon Roberts via a successful Kickstarter funding campaign in the summer of 2025. It is with our growing community front of mind that we have developed our facilities and services.
POST’s year-round cultural programme includes exhibitions, artist talks, film screenings, cultural supper clubs & social events whilst our education programme consists of workshops, courses & masterclasses available to all levels of practitioners, from complete beginners to seasoned professionals.
It’s through POST’s membership scheme that you can access our diverse and affordable services and facilities and build the community and network you need to support you and your practice. We also have facilities available for external hire, including our photographic studio and gallery space.
Please drop us a line to arrange a cuppa and chat. We’ll happily show you around and discuss how you’d like to get involved. We’re also always open to suggestions on potential future collaborations.

“Given that Brighton must have the greatest number of photographers after London, I find it astonishing that there has never been an active photography-related centre with a gallery, library and place for photographers to meet. All the more reason to support this endeavour!”
— Martin Parr, Photographer
“This is a much needed space for the vibrant photo community in Brighton & Hove, a city with such a longstanding connection to contemporary photography in the UK.”
— Shoair Mavlian, Director, The Photographers’ Gallery
“At a time when artists and arts organisations are struggling to find affordable space, Nina and Simon are responding to this need through the creation of a dynamic new arts space in the west of the city. Their project will also serve local residents and businesses through an arts education and cultural events programme. I fully support this initiative and look forward to finding ways to collaborate.”
— Hedley Swain, CEO, Royal Pavilions and Museums Trust
“Photofusion is delighted to put our support behind such an exciting endeavour. It’s so great to be prioritising more physical spaces for photographers to develop their work and get that sense of artistic community.”
— Jenni Grainger, Director, Photofusion
“I think POST really deserves support. Community is our future!”
— Nadav Kander, Photographer
“Brighton has been crying out for a focal point for the photographic community for the 20 years I have been here. It is so exciting to now have POST setting up here to fill that gap and be the much needed hub for so many of the amazingly creative and talented people working within photography in the city.”
— Richard Kalman, Crane Kalman Brighton
“POST is a brilliant initiative at a time of great need for space, community, innovation and sustainability. Photoworks is excited to be a key partner and we are looking forward working together to create more ways for practitioners and audiences to access photography.”
— Louise Clements, Director, Photoworks
