POST is a new artist-led cultural space near Hove train station which will house affordable artist studios, photographic studio, community darkroom, exhibition & events space, hot-desking zone and kitchen. We will also run a year-round education programme offering onsite and online workshops and masterclasses.
POST will be an inclusive cultural centre for everyone – artists, residents, students, professionals, families, visitors – encompassing people from all different backgrounds and walks of life – diversity is welcomed and embraced.
POST will have a comprehensive membership scheme and cater for different needs and budgets depending on which facilities are of most interest – ranging from community membership (e.g. access to discounted talks & workshops), darkroom membership, hot-desking membership and so on. Given we only have a few spaces for artist studio membership, we have created a short application process below.
POST have a model where all our members share time, resources, expertise, conversation and generally support each other – we hope this will help to address social and professional isolation and tight budgets.
POST isn’t just about providing space. It’s about making space – for collaboration, for ideas, and for tackling some of the biggest issues of our time through art and creativity.
We will regularly bring together artists, residents, community groups, public & private sector partners in ‘creative solutions labs‘ to collectively explore how to address challenges like inequality, homelessness, the climate crisis and biodiversity loss in the city and beyond.
